A Commitment to our Community

When my son and I first arrived in New Braunfels, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and a sense of community that immediately made this place feel like home. It is this spirit of connection and care that inspired me to create Still Waters Consulting, a way to give back to a community that has already given so much to my family.

Still Waters Consulting was born from a desire to support families navigating the challenges of dementia care. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the impact that compassionate, informed care can have not only on the person living with dementia but also on their families and the professional caregivers who support them every day. I realized that there was a need for guidance, education, and practical support that was accessible, personalized, and rooted in respect for each individual’s unique journey.

Central to my approach is person-centered care. This philosophy recognizes that no two people experience dementia in the same way and no two families navigate caregiving in the same way. Person-centered care focuses on the individual, honoring their history, preferences, abilities, and needs, and tailors care to preserve dignity, comfort, and meaning. It is a mindset, a methodology, and most importantly, a way of seeing and valuing each person as they are today.

Introducing the concept of person-centered care is vital for both family caregivers and professional caregivers. Families often carry the weight of daily decisions, emotional stress, and uncertainty, while professionals face the challenge of meeting diverse needs in a structured environment. Education and support allow both groups to approach care with empathy, understanding, and practical strategies that truly improve quality of life. By bridging knowledge and compassion, we can create care environments, whether at home or in a community setting, where people living with dementia feel seen, heard, and valued.

For me, supporting the New Braunfels community in this way is deeply personal and profoundly meaningful. I am committed to helping families feel less alone, to guiding caregivers in providing thoughtful, individualized care, and to offering resources that make daily life calmer, more manageable, and filled with dignity for everyone involved.

I am truly grateful to the New Braunfels community for welcoming my family and me into its fold. Still Waters Consulting exists to give back, to serve, and to ensure that families and caregivers here have the guidance, education, and support they need. Every conversation, consultation, and care plan is an opportunity to honor this community and help families navigate the journey of dementia with clarity, compassion, and peace of mind.

Thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you. Together, we can ensure that every person living with dementia and the families who love them receive care that reflects their worth, their story, and their individuality.
