About Still Waters Consulting
Still Waters Consulting was founded out of a deep commitment to supporting individuals living with dementia and the families who care for them. What began as years of hands-on leadership and direct care experience, grew into a calling to walk alongside families during one of life’s most complex and emotional journeys.
At Still Waters Consulting, we provide education, dementia care planning, and in-person coaching designed to bring clarity, confidence, and compassion to everyday caregiving. While our methodology and framework are grounded in best practices and evidence-informed approaches, the way we apply them is never one-size-fits-all.
No two families are alike, and no two experiences with dementia unfold in the same way. Each family brings its own dynamics, values, routines, and challenges, and each person living with dementia has a unique history, personality, and set of needs. Because of this, no two care plans should ever look the same.
Our work is deeply personalized. We take the time to understand not only the clinical aspects of dementia, but also the relationships, environments, and lived experiences that shape daily life. Care plans are thoughtfully tailored and adjusted to reflect what matters most to each family, and we remain actively involved to support the implementation of the plan in real, practical ways.
Here in Comal County, families often find themselves searching for trusted guidance as care needs increase, transitions arise, or questions begin to feel overwhelming. Still Waters Consulting exists to fill that gap with local, accessible, and relationship-centered support. We believe that informed guidance, compassionate presence, and personalized care can bring steadiness to even the most uncertain seasons.
A Note From Our Founder
I created Still Waters Consulting after years of working closely with individuals living with dementia and the families who care for them. Throughout that time, I saw how often primary caregivers were left feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, and alone, even when they were doing everything they knew to support the person they love.
Dementia care is not just about understanding a diagnosis or managing symptoms. It is about navigating constant change, grief that unfolds over time, and decisions that can feel heavy and isolating. Too often, families are expected to learn as they go, without clear guidance, trusted education, or someone to walk alongside them and help make sense of what is happening.
Still Waters Consulting was created to offer that steady presence. My approach is rooted in education, practical planning, and compassionate, in-person support that respects the dignity of the person living with dementia while honoring the experience of those providing care. I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), and I bring both professional training and lived experience into every interaction with families.
I also hold a Master’s degree in Education and spent a decade in public education teaching high school. That background deeply shapes how I support families today. Education has always been at the heart of my work, and I believe that when information is delivered with clarity, patience, and empathy, it empowers people to feel more confident and capable, even in difficult seasons.
My faith plays a quiet but foundational role in this work. The name Still Waters reflects a belief that even in seasons of uncertainty and exhaustion, peace and steadiness are possible. I am continually reminded that caregiving is sacred work, and that presence, patience, and love matter deeply, especially when words and memories begin to fade.
Serving families here in Comal County is especially meaningful to me. This is a community where relationships matter, and where families deserve thoughtful, local support during difficult seasons. It is an honor to be invited into these moments, and I remain deeply committed to walking alongside families with humility, steadiness, and care.
